I just want to commend Tecnitoys on the beautiful job they did on the supports for the banked curve. I was also impressed that they included the barrels in the Chicane. I applaud the fact that they took time to improve their quality this past year. I hope they have a great show this year.
We have many discussions on the things we don't like, and that has a place, but let's also have a discussion on the things that are being done well.
Please forgive me for not posting in Spanish, but I've been told my translator program is worthless. I'm hoping you have a better one.

Esto es muy típico de la gente de "los Madriles". No os lo toméis a mal, pero es que el laismo suena muy, pero que muy mal, donde no se usa, y puestos a ser correctos...

Respecto al tema de este hilo, yo tengo mi scalextric desde reyes y por ahora ni un fallo: todo ha funcionado a la perfección y a la primera. Mi único problema ha sido a la hora de conectar las dos centralitas, pero me temo que la culpa fue mia por impaciente y terminé dejando frita la centralita del Basic
En cuanto al diseño, creo que es de los mas vistosos y detallistas que hay, y como dice lewi, es de agradecer que las novedades de pistas vengan con las barreras incluidas. Esperemos que esta año nos sorprendan con nuevas novedades!!

Seguro que le ha entendido, hay que valorar el esfuerzo de tener informado a los usuarios de fuera, y la rapida contestación....

Lewi forget all the previous posts, not related to your early message.
This is a very constructive forum (although sometimes one that likes to go off on highly unlikely tangents), so all the criticism you will find is positively aimed. You should know, you have quite a few posts yourself.
If you can read spanish, i believe you will find many kudos for the things being done well. I personally cannot vouch for the banked curve (don't have one), but i find the chicane amazing, and the barrels really great, well thought through and executed. Although for me what i really like is the easy snap on-snap off method to connect track - really well achieved, i think.
Anyone else for scx, scalextric spain commendations?

I apologize for not posting in Spanish. I can use my translator, and I get about 30% of the idea of the posts. I really like Scalextric Digital, but there is very little information in the US. I try to check out the forums from many countries to get information. I was priveleged to meet Marc Solano at the Toy and Hobby show in Rosemont IL this past October. We spoke for quite some time and he was a very nice gentleman and represented Tecnitoys well.
To get back on topic, another thing I like is that Tecnitoys includes headlights and taillights on their cars. Maybe in the future they will surprise us with operational brake lights. I think the digital track is definitely world class.
I started out as a teenager in the 60's with HO scale slot cars. Now that I'm a Grandfather, I want to help my grandson find the enjoyment of racing. I'm constantly impressed with the capability of the digital system and look forward impatiently to the new releases. I guess we never really grow up, do we?!/forums/style_emoticons/default/cervezas.gif

In the early 60s, around 1962, the first slot cars in HO scale were not designed for racing. They were designed to run on layouts and move at scale speeds. The concept was to create a hobby like model railroading. In fact, Aurora called the system Model Motoring. The controllers were table mounted with a steering wheel that set the speed of the car. The cars didn't have electric motors in them. They had a solenoid that had an attached arm that moved up and down. On the down stroke the arm would engage a wide gear that was attached to the rear axle of the car. These cars were called "vibrators". It didn't take long for Aurora and other companies to see that people were racing with the cars. So, in about 1964, the design was changed to incorporate electric motors. These were vertically mounted (sort of like a spinning top). The power was transmitted through a series of 5 gears to the rear axle. These cars were called " T-Jets". The controllers changed to a hand controller with a push button on top of the controller. You used your thumb to control the speed of the car. After about 15 minutes of racing your thumb would be sore. In 1969, the cars changed once again. They became larger (about 1:64 scale) and the configuration is that which is used in today's slot cars.
